ORLANDO, Fla. — With just a few more weeks until the OUC Orlando Half Marathon, two people are gearing up for a very special weekend.
The weekend of the half marathon, WESH 2's Stewart Moore and Shaloni Prine will both be running — and turning 40.
"I am turning 40 years old on Dec. 7, which is the same day as the OUC Half Marathon, and I'm super excited to be starting my morning and kicking off my 40s by running my first half marathon," Prine said.
While it won't be Moore's first half marathon, it'll be the first race he runs in his 40s, switching decades the night before the half marathon is set to take over the streets of downtown Orlando.
"My goal is just, I need to finish this race for me," Prine said. "My body's not what it used to be, and I'm sure you can relate to that, but certainly, you know, listening to my body and taking time to rest, I think, is really important."
This is by no means Prine's first race — she's done 5ks and a five-mile race — but this mom of two says she needs a new challenge and looks forward to celebrating in a big way.
