Welcome Andres Arroyo - Elite Athlete Ambassador!

We’re so happy to welcome 2-time Olympian Andres Arroyo as Track Shack’s first Elite Athlete Ambassador!

Andres Arroyo, 28, was a stellar track and field athlete at Colonial High School. Among his many accolades as a Grenadier running under Coach Rene Placencia, in 2013 (his senior year) Arroyo was the FHSAA 4A state champion in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meters!

He was recruited to run at the University of Florida and specialized in the 800m and 1500m. Andres competed for Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships in Athletics in 2012 and 2014. He also appeared at the 2013 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where he ran the junior men's race. He won two NCAA championships with the Gators. He was the 2017 SEC champion in the 800m.

Andres qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio running 1:45.78 in 800 meters at the 2016 Florida Relays. He went on to become the first Puerto Rican runner to make the 800 semifinals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. He also competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

He remains as passionate about running as ever and is currently training to qualify for the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Look for upcoming social media content from Andres Arroyo to inspire others to the sport!
